One of my best Sunday ever; I spent it at Batam with my beloved boyfriend. Two months ago, I've won myself SGD$100 credit for Deal.com.sg and hence, I purchased two deal coupons from there. After deducting the $100 credit, we just have to pay SGD92 for the ferry tickets, taxes and all other costs to enjoy a 2D1N stay at Batam Harris Resort with breakfast buffet, 60minutes of massage session and 2way land transfer between the Waterfront ferry terminal and the hotel. In the early morning, we headed off to Habourfront Ferry Terminal and that's where we set off to Batam by Sindo ferry.
After 45minutes of the ferry ride, we alighted at the Waterfront Ferry Terminal as it was much nearer to the resort where we would be staying over - it's merely 5minutes ride to the resort. As Indonesia is one hour behind Singapore time, we arrived at Batam Harris Resort at around 1145am (Batam Time) and we were being greeted by their warm smiles, wet towels and welcome drinks.

Since we were pretty early for a check-in, we decided to tour around the resort and chill at the poolside. In the meantime, we booked a 2way shuttle bus service from the resort to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall and back from there. It cost SGD10 for a 2way transport and please remember to take note of the timing. There were merely two timings for the weekdays and three timings for the weekends. I couldn't remember clearly what are the timings but we booked the shuttle bus service at 2pm (Batam Time). After an hour or so, we were told to wait for another 15minutes in order to get a pool view room. In addition, we were told to place a deposit of SGD 50 and so, please remember to bring along additional SGD50 for the deposit. Alternatively, you can also choose to deduct from your credit card. By that time, we were already feeling famished and I was craving for a seafood lunch.
Finally after more than an hour, we managed to get our room. Somehow I didn't regret waiting for more than an hour to get a room with a better view instead of staying at the first level. The room was really welcoming with the "Harris Big Hug" cushion. Furthermore, there's a bathtub in the toilet which I enjoyed soaking myself in it after a long day out in the city. Previously when I stayed over at Sentosa Hardrock Hotel, it was kind of disappointing as there wasn't any bathtub in there. Moreover, the room was pretty spacious; I can roll from one end to the other.

When it was around 2pm (Batam Time), we headed down to the lobby to wait for the shuttle bus to bring us to Nagoya Hill. From the resort to Nagoya Hill, it was approximately a 25 minutes journey. At Batam, all the drivers seemed "fierce" and the road seemed pretty narrow with only a few traffic lights. Pretty dangerous, I would say. But of course, we reached Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall safely. The first thing that we did upon stepping in the mall was to look for seafood. We decided to patronize the 933 Seafood and that's where I managed to satisfy my craving for a seafood lunch. Cereal Prawns (RP 36 000), Lala with the super spicy chili sauce, Butter Crab (RP 62 000), Fried Rice with egg and Teh Susu added up to a bill of RP 156,000 which was inclusive of service charge and GST. Even though it seemed pretty cheap, I was really disappointed with the size of the crab probably because I've tried those really huge crabs in Singapore and so, I expected the crab to be bigger but not those mini one.

Nagoya Hill is considered as the biggest mall in Batam and 3hours wasn't sufficient for us to shop around. Why 3hours? It was because the shuttle bus driver would be picking us up at 530pm (Batam Time). After our seafood lunch, we shopped around the shopping mall.
Went to their Hypermart and we spent merely RP 62 000 (less than SGD 10) for these stuffs. As compared to Singapore, it was so much cheaper to buy your groceries and tibits there.
After which, we patronized A&W for the waffle ice cream and float. It cost merely RP 33 000. Well, everything seemed pretty cheap there. I can't really remember when was the last time I patronized A&W; many many years ago when there was an outlet at AngMoKio central I suppose? That was like hell long okay and so, I got kind of excited upon seeing A&W.

After travelling back to our resort, it was around 6pm (Batam Time) and we decided to go for a swim. When I said "go for a swim", I literally meant soaking in the pool. Soaking in the pool at night seemed relaxing; float on the water, lift up your head and you get to enjoy the beautiful view of the stars dazzling in the dark sky. It feels especially sweet when you get to enjoy such view with your beloved one.

Goodnight everyone (: |
