Genting Day 3
Goodmorning everyone, it was our Day 3 in Genting Highland. The start of our day wasn't a disappointment as we patronized Shanghai 10 for their dimsum breakfast. The breakfast promotion was really cheap and affordable; the prices of the dimsum ranged from RM3.80++ onwards. Setting aside the attitude of the staffs, the food was amazingly delicious. Why do I mention about the staffs? Well, the waiters and waitresses hardly take the initiative to serve the customers which can be really irritating at times. After our breakfast, we headed off to the Genting Skyway to purchase the tickets for a scenic cable car ride to Gohtong Jaya. For two-ways rides, it cost merely RM12 per pax.
Upon reaching Gohtong Jaya, we asked around for the right direction to hop onto the shuttle bus which would bring us to the Strawberry Leisure Farm. As you can see from the following picture, the operating hours of the shuttle bus will start from 930am to 6pm daily. As for the interval, it's estimated to be every 20minutes but sometimes, you might have to wait for some time for the bus. But fear not, there weren't many others who were waiting for the bus and hence, you could be seated in the bus throughout the short journey. The cable car ride took about half an hour and the shuttle bus took less than 5minutes to arrive at the destination. Hence, it was approximately a 45minutes journey from Genting Skyway to the Strawberry Farm.
What's so interesting about this Strawberry Farm was that there was this section whereby you could self pick your strawberries. Every 100g of self-picked strawberries, you would have to pay merely RM8. If you are lazy to do so, you can actually purchase the fresh pack of strawberries at RM15(300g). Trust my eyes, the strawberries looked really fresh except that there might be some which were already rotten though. Nevertheless, it was a great experience for me as this was my very first time visiting a farm where I could even pick the strawberries myself. Anyway, the entrance to the farm is free and thus, you are only paying for what you buy or pick.
For us, we actually picked more than 500g of strawberries. Initially, we had a hard time determining the weight of the strawberries which we have picked. But thanks to the help of the Indian man who was working there, he gauged the weight and with that, we could take it as a reference.
TA DA, that's our 500g worth of Strawberries!

After paying for our self-picked Strawberries and Strawberry Malt Candy which I've bought for my cousin, we continued walking and chanced upon the Strawberry Cafe. Interestingly, they actually sell Strawberry Chicken Wings but sadly, we gave it a miss. We were pretty thirsty and hence, we only tried their Strawberry Milktea. Wow, it's really "Strawberrilicious". Anyway guess what, we actually spent an hour picking the strawberries. Let us see what's up next. Please take note that there's only an one way Exit and hence, you must walk through the Mushroom Farm before leaving this place.
After spending nearly two hours or so at Strawberry Farm (they called it Strawberi Farm though), we waited for the shuttle bus to send us back to Gohtong Jaya. From there, we took the cable car back to Genting Skyway. When we arrived at Genting Skyway, it was already past 130pm and we went back to First World Plaza to buy some finger food as we were afraid of going hungry during the long bus journey back to Singapore. Sighs, I dislike long bus ride when the road is terribly jerky. At that point of time, the toilet bowl has become my goodfriend. I believe you could imagine me sitting quietly at the corner, bearing with it after few hours of bus ride. Labels: Genting Trip Day 3
