Genting Day 1
Two months ago, I've booked my 3D2N Genting package with Grassland Express & Tours Pte Ltd. Since the dates fell on the non-peak period, we were given some sort of promotional price - SGD176 (2pax) for 3D2N Stay at First World Hotel and 2 Way Bus Transport. The departure time was fixed at 730am and it was a more than 6hours journey as we reached Genting Highland only at around 215pm. It was really a long journey and the two of us dozed off several times in the bus. We couldn't stop yawning as the bus journey was really quiet and exhausting. Even though the driver should be the one who feel the exhaustion, I was really worn out probably because I wasn't used to waking up early in the morning. Besides that, the seat was just too comfortable if you were to forget about the bumpy road which caused the bus ride to be terribly jerky. Other than that, the curtains hided the presence of the bright sun and the air conditioner caused us to feel extremely sluggish. However, one bad thing about long bus ride was that if I had to visit the washroom, I had to bear with it and wait till the bus stopped at some resting points. The bus would stop twice at different resting points for us to grab a bite or visit the toilets for those who were really urgent in doing small/big business.

Big bun which we bought at one of the resting points (: |
Upon reaching Genting Highland, the first thing we did was to patronize Marrybrown for our lunch. The moment we stepped in, their tower burger caught my attention and thus, we decided to give it a try. The name, "Tower Burger", had given us an impression that the burger must be really huge. Perhaps even bigger than a double MacSpicy burger? But nope, we were wrong to assume that because the size of the burger was kind of small. It was out of our expectation but nevertheless, the chicken was nice; not that oily though. After our lunch, we headed off to First World Hotel Lobby (the sign showed "lobi" instead) to check in. Even though it was stated that we could only check in after 3pm, we reached there at around 245pm. Guess what, we actually waited for half an hour before checking in. We had to get a number queue ticket and wait for our turn before checking in. That was horrible because there were like 77 people before us? Seriously, I detest wasting time when I'm out of Singapore; I would like to enjoy my time to the fullest though. Although there were around 32 counters, it didn't help to minimize the waiting time.
The picture above was our hotel room, it was cosy - the perfect ideal room for couples. After checking in, we headed off to Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum at level 2 of First World Plaza. The admission fee for one adult was RM22 and hence, we paid RM44 for two persons. However, if you would like to try out the haunted adventure, you can purchase the package at RM35 (Ripley's Believe It or Not and Haunted Adventure).
After spending more than an hour in the museum, we headed off to shop around the First World Plaza before deciding what to eat for dinner. It was a tough choice as the food there seemed delicious and lastly, we chose to patronize Shanghai 10. The moment we stepped in, we didn't regret because the food was really mouth-watering. My boyfriend is someone who is horribly picky when it comes to the selection of food. He seldom compliments how delicious the dish can be but this time round, he was really satisfied with the few dishes which we've ordered. We loved the butter prawns and dimsum there. My boyfriend even initiated to take photograph with one of the waiters who served us. Shanghai 10, it's a definitely must try. Even though you might not see the crowd at the restaurant at night, you would be surprised to see the number of people patronizing it in the morning. Don't really understand why but perhaps it was due to the breakfast promotion which was ongoing from 730am - 11am. I believe people find it cheaper to patronize the restaurant in the morning and thus, you do not get to see the crowd at night. For us, we felt that it was really worth the money. The next time I go Genting, I will definitely visit Shanghai 10 again.

The glowing bowling center; it's only opened after 6pm. Hence, we could only visit at night. |
