Say it loud - Family Comes First

In a blink of eyes, I have spent 18years with my family members.
My journey down the 18years, has never been peaceful.
Bickering among parents and arguments with brother occurred frequently.
Nevertheless, I love them tenderly as my family.
It's arguments that make us seem like one happy family.
We grow old together.
We learn our mistakes together.
We eat, drink and do things as one family.
Most importantly, we love one another as one whole family.
My brother and I are constantly bombarded with school work and projects.
My father has been busy working to support the family.
My mummy has been doing housework all day long, fulfilling her duties as a wife and mother.
We tend to neglect one another and somehow this affects us in a way that we have no time for one another.
Hence, I'm here to pledge that
I will give each of them a goodnight kiss before I head to bed every night.
Simple gestures and actions can deliver a love message.
Trying hard to brainstorm for ideas to tell your family members that you love them?
It's easier if you prove it with actions.
Words can be deceiving but it can never defeat actions against sincerity.
I may not be able to promise them that I will spend more time with them.
Because each and every one of us has things to get busy with.
I would rather make a meaningful pledge on something that I can fulfill and do it everyday.
A peak on their cheek can make their night sweet and so, why not?
I may not have the time to go out with them often, but this is something that I can do everyday to show them that...
I care for them.
I love them.
I wanna be there with them when they need me.
Reasons and reasons, there are just too many to be mentioned.
Writing it on my organiser book, dropping down in a notepad and I will try all means to remind myself to honour the pledge and do it everyday.
I will let the world know that my family comes first.
   
 National Family Celebrations 2010 (NFC 2010)Organised by the National Family Council, National Family Celebrations is an annual event which celebrates and reinforces the importance of families and family life. This year, Singaporeans are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their families by being a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement.
